I wanted to personally share an important update regarding worship for ASCENT 2026.
Unfortunately, Generation Worship will no longer be able to lead worship at ASCENT this summer. Due to personal matters that are not our story to tell, Generation Church made the difficult decision to cancel all summer tours for their traveling worship band. They greatly apologized to us for having to step away from ASCENT with only a few weeks remaining before camp, and we completely understand and respect their decision. But I understand if you’re disappointed. I know I am, so I ask that we ask everyone to simply respond with grace, prayer, and understanding for everyone involved.
At the same time, this meant that USMB NextGen had to pivot quickly.
The good news is that God has already provided.
Over the past couple of weeks, we have been putting together a worship team made up of musicians and leaders from several churches around Wichita. This new team will be led by Candy Bergman, whom many of you already know through middle school camp and her leadership with AXIS Worship.
While this will not officially be AXIS Worship, we truly believe we are in great hands. This team has incredible hearts for students and worship, strong musical ability, and a genuine love for ASCENT. In fact, every member of this new band has a previous connection to ASCENT in some way, which makes this feel even more special and personal. Because of that, we are excited to officially introduce the A.W.B. (ASCENT Worship Band) for ASCENT 2026.
While unexpected changes can sometimes feel disappointing at first, we believe God is still fully at work in this summer’s camp. Worship has never ultimately been about a specific band or platform; it’s about students encountering Jesus and responding to Him together.
Please continue praying:
- For Generation Church & Generation Worship and everyone involved
- For the new ASCENT Worship Band as they prepare in a short amount of time
- For our students and leaders attending camp
- And most importantly, that God would use ASCENT 2026 to deeply connect students to Christ and one another
