WORKSHOPS

What Does It Mean To "Deconstruct" My Faith?
By Serena Hanson | Gazebo #1

There’s a lot of people talking about “deconstructing” faith nowadays. What does that mean, exactly? If I deconstruct, am I choosing between whether to believe or not believe, or am I working towards a more clear understanding of what I believe and why I believe it? Am I turning away or becoming more equipped to discuss my faith and to stand by it? Why does expressing my faith look and feel different to me than to other generations of believers? In this workshop, we’ll try to have an honest conversation, talking about these questions, and, hopefully, we’ll leave feeling a little more comfortable with what walking through a faith journey really means. We won’t be able to answer all of our questions in one hour, but we’ll take the first few steps together.

Living Beyond Fear
By Wendell Loewen | Gazebo #2

Fear is a beautiful emotion that warns you of danger, but it's a bad decision-maker. This workshop helps you understand where your fears come from and gives you practical steps that help you move beyond your fears and live in the liberating truth of God.

Words From The Heart
By Stephen Humber | Gazebo #3

How can we find the right words to talk with others about what Jesus means to us? In this highly interactive workshop, you will develop your own "15-second testimony" and practice it with friends. (Need paper and pen.)

Jesus and Instagram
By Mike Klassen | Gazebo #4

Can social media be a spiritual act of worship? Join me as we explore the relationship between scripture, tweets, snaps, posts and photos and how we can intentionally participate.

Tired of Trying to Measure Up?
By Drew Pankratz | Gazebo #5

Do you ever get tired of trying to measure up? The pressures and expectations to do more, be better, or try harder may sound good, but are they biblical? Come see how the Gospel frees us & invites us to rest in our true identity.

Cultural Glasses: Every Human Wears Some
By Joanna Chapa | Gazebo #6

How is life affected by what "cultural glasses" we wear? What in the world are "cultural glasses"? How is our journey with Jesus and our impact in this world shaped by them? Come join Joanna Chapa, former missionary to Peru, and journey together through what this means and why it matters, especially as we cross "cultures" (and FYI, we do this all the time, even in the U.S.).
